Tablet App Quality Checklist

Google Android Developer Relations Team recently published a new best practices guide the Tablet App Quality Checklist.

It identifies 10 key elements developers should address in their development process:

  1. Core app quality.
  2. Layouts for larger screens.
  3. Taking advantage of extra screen space.
  4. Using icons and other assets that are designed for tablet screens.
  5. Adjusting font sizes and touch targets for tablet screens.
  6. Adjusting sizes of home screen widgets for tablet screens.
  7. Offering the app’s full feature set to tablet users.
  8. Not requiring hardware features that might not be available on tablets.
  9. Declaring support for tablet screen configurations
  10. Following Google Play publishing best practices.
